With a collaborative approach LaToya brings more than fifteen years of experience as a leader within the non-profit community. From her role as a case manager to her role as Executive Director, LaToya has been able to make community connections and connect others to opportunities for growth.
Currently working as an operations supervisor and an executive director at two nonprofits, LaToya provides guidance in several key areas of strategic planning to help nonprofits grow and thrive.
One of LaToya’s strengths lies in her ability to navigate well under high-pressure situations, both professionally and personally. In fact, it is this resiliency that helps her with her battle with cancer. In 2024 LaToya was diagnosed with Stage 4 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She will tell you that her cancer has gave her both the drive and insight to be a stronger leader by sharing the knowledge and experience she has gained over the years.
LaToya ‘s career began in the human service field when she gave a family that was experiencing homelessness a car that was sitting unused in her driveway. At the time, LaToya only had her associate degree but could not find a job in the nonprofit field. After giving the family a car, the nonprofit organization that was providing emergency shelter to the family hired LaToya. LaToya worked hard and eventually moved from her role as day center supervisor to being promoted to the role of executive director of the organization.
A native of Iowa, LaToya received her bachelors degree and masters of public administration from Upper Iowa University. In her free time, LaToya enjoys spending time with her family and shopping!
